Colombo Engineering Works represents a small, deliberate portfolio of manufacturers in Sri Lanka — precision aluminium monolithic formwork, and organic waste management and bio-input systems. We are the appointed representatives for Elpha Formwork and Omega EcoTech — and with the formwork we supply, we put skilled manpower on your project in Sri Lanka for Formwork Installation, Reinforcement and Concreting.
Every brand we carry was built by people who took a system seriously — the aluminium engineers of Xiamen, and the soil scientists of Coimbatore who set out to make organic waste useful again. From Colombo, we bring those systems ashore and place them, with care, in the hands of the people who need them.
When you take your formwork from Colombo Engineering Works, we can also supply the manpower to build with it. We provide skilled manpower to contractors and developers for the three trades that set the pace of every concrete structure. This service is available in Sri Lanka only, and is not offered outside the island.
Skilled manpower to erect, strike and cycle the formwork systems we supply, floor after floor.
Rebar fixing manpower to cut, bend, place and tie reinforcement to drawing, so steel is ready ahead of the pour.
Concreting manpower to place, compact and finish concrete, working to your pour sequence and floor cycle.
Xiamen Elpha Metals sits within the Xiangyu Group, a Fortune Global 500 house of non-ferrous metals — which means its aluminium formwork begins upstream, at the metal itself. Headquartered in Xiamen, ELPHA manufactures at two integrated production bases in Henan and Guangdong. The system is built for monolithic concrete: light enough to strike and reset by hand, true enough to leave a face that needs little more than paint, and durable enough to repeat that cycle hundreds of times. Where a floor plan repeats, aluminium earns its keep. CEW represents the Aluminium Monolithic Formwork line in Sri Lanka.
Colombo Engineering Works is the appointed Sri Lankan representative for ELPHA aluminium monolithic formwork, the system that casts walls, slabs, beams, columns and staircases in a single pour. We work with contractors and developers on mass housing, high-rise residential and repeated-block projects across the island, and we stay on site from mock-up to the final pour.
Aluminium monolithic formwork, also called aluminium shuttering or an aluminium formwork system, is a kit of precision aluminium panels assembled into a full-floor mould. Walls, slabs, beams, columns, staircases, balconies and door and window openings are cast together in one concrete pour.
The panels are light enough to handle by hand, without a crane for every lift. They are struck and reset on the next floor in a repeating cycle. The concrete face they leave needs only a skim coat before painting, not full plaster.
Compared with timber and plywood shuttering you get faster floor cycles on repeating plans, consistent dimensions floor after floor, hundreds of reuses with no timber waste, less reliance on skilled carpenters, and a set that keeps resale value at the end.
ELPHA manufacturing figures, as published by ELPHA Formwork. Xiamen HQ; production bases in Henan and Guangdong.
Urban regeneration and relocation housing, where one unit layout repeats across many floors and blocks.
Apartment and condominium towers in Colombo and the suburbs, with typical floors above the podium.
Staff housing, hostels, hotels and commercial buildings on repeating structural grids.
Rule of thumb: the economics depend on repetition. The more typical floors one set casts, the lower the cost per m². Send us your drawings and we'll tell you whether ELPHA aluminium formwork suits your project, and how many floors it takes to pay for itself.

A system of lightweight aluminium panels assembled into a full-floor mould, so walls, slabs, beams, columns and staircases are cast together in one concrete pour. ELPHA is an aluminium monolithic formwork system.
Projects with a repeating floor plan: mass and affordable housing, high-rise apartments, condominiums and repeated blocks. The more times one set is reused, the lower the formwork cost per square metre.
The set costs more upfront. On a project with enough repetition, the cost per m² of concrete cast usually ends up below conventional shuttering once you count faster cycles, fewer skilled labour hours and less plastering. We can prepare a comparison for your project.
Both. In Sri Lanka we provide installation labour and full project supervision, starting with a site mock-up before the first floor and continuing to the final pour.
Yes. With formwork supplied by CEW, we provide skilled manpower for Formwork Installation, Reinforcement (rebar fixing) and Concreting, with supervision. This is a Sri Lanka only service; we do not supply labour overseas.
No. We offer flexible payment plans structured to suit your project and cash flow, and with buy-back we purchase the set back when your project is complete.

Omega Ecotech was founded in 1999 by a team of environmental and agricultural scientists with a straightforward conviction: organic waste is a resource that has been mishandled. From its plants in Coimbatore and Pollachi the company makes aerobic composting media, bio-fertilizers and bio-pesticides, and builds waste management systems that run from a single household upward. Its home solutions have been adopted under state waste programmes in Kerala.
A formwork house, a skilled manpower provider and a waste engineering house under one roof — which means the system that shapes the concrete, the manpower that builds with it, and the system that handles what the development produces afterwards arrive from the same desk. A few ways our partners work together.
Precision aluminium panel systems for monolithic concrete: light to strike and reset, true enough to leave a clean face, and built to repeat the cycle where a floor plan recurs. Supplied with installation labour, supervision, buy-back and flexible payment plans.
Organic waste management for institutions and agriculture: aerobic composting systems, bio-fertilizers and bio-pesticides, with farm consultancy behind them.
